Doris Zweifel Luton Memorial Fund
This Fall, Dr. Nancy Luton, daughter of Doris Zweifel Luton, renewed her contribution to the Doris Zweifel Luton Memorial Fund.
Doris was a Granbury native, resident, and former teacher. She began her 10-year career as an English teacher at Granbury High School in 1957. In addition, she was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver all her life.
A founding member of the FoL for Hood County, Doris was also a member of DAR, past-President of the Womens’ Wednesday Club, a founding member of the Granbury Opera Board, served on the Board of the Texas Historical Foundation, and the Granbury Bicentennial Beautification Council.
To honor her 90th birthday and to acknowledge her wide-ranging interests, her children established the Doris Zweifel Luton Memorial Fund with the Friends of the Library for Hood County for the purchase of books and research materials related to Texas and the Southwest.
Doris died April 12, 2008, but the FoL Doris Zweifel Luton Memorial Fund continues her memory.
Contributions to the Fund may be sent to:
