FoL Call for Volunteers

The Friends of the Library for Hood County is in need of Volunteers for the upcoming Spring ’10 semi-annual Book Sale.

Set-up for the Book Sale coincides with National Volunteer week! So, please consider Volunteering to help the Friends! A Volunteer Sign-up sheet is available at the Front Desk of the Library. You may also contact Book Sales Chair Dee Gormley.

The Friends need Volunteers for three tasks during the Book Sale (all times are “come when you can”):

Book Sale Set-up
Wednesday April 14 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Table/Chair/Box Movers

Thursday April 15 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Table/Box Movers, Book Sorters, Book Shelvers

Friday April 16 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Table/Box Movers, Book Sorters, Book Shelvers

Monday April 19 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Table/Box Movers, Book Sorters, Book Shelvers

Tuesday April 20 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Box Movers, Book Sorters, Book Shelvers

Wednesday April 21 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Box Movers, Book Sorters, Book Shelvers

Sales Assistance Volunteers
Thursday April 22 – 24, three shifts: 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Cashiers, Door-Prize Table Assistant, Floor Assistance, and Re-Stocking Assistance.

Sunday April 25, one shift: 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m.: Cashiers, Door-Prize Table Assistant, Floor Assistance, and Re-Stocking Assistance.

Clean-up Assistance
The week after the sale, we will need help with Table Break-Down, Box Moving, Book Boxing, & General Clean-up .

Monday April 26, two shifts: 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:00 p.m -4:00 p.m.

Tuesday April 27, two shifts: 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:00 p.m -4:00 p.m.

Wednesday April 28, two shifts: 10:00 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:00 p.m -4:00 p.m.

The Friends are also seeking Nomination of Volunteers to serve on the FoL Board of Directors for 2010-11.
