For 2009, a miniature Christmas book collection donated to the Library by Anadell Teems, the sister of FoL President Jeanell Morris, decorated the Library’s tree.

Mark your calendar for the Friends’ Spring ’10 Book Sale!

Our most popular activity, the semi-annual book sale, will open to the public on April 24th and 25th.

The Members Only Sale begins April 22nd and 23rd for Members of the FoL.

Volunteers will be needed to help with the April Book Sale set-up and/or the Sale itself.

Set-up will begin on April 15th-16th and 19th-21st.

We welcome donations of books, which can be dropped off next to the Library check-out desk any day the Library is open.

Sales feature hard and soft cover books from popular fiction authors, non-fiction books, and childrens books as well as Music CDs, Video Tapes, DVDs, Books on Tape, and more!

Two of our most popular activities are our semi-annual book sales in Spring and Fall and our ongoing sale in our in-Library Book Store.

Members receive early notification of and early shopping dates for the semi-annual book sales and discounts in our Book Store.

Members and non-members alike can shop our Book Store in the Library.  The store features hard and soft cover books from popular fiction authors, non-fiction books, and children’s books as well as Music CDs, Video Tapes, DVDs, and Books on Tape.

FoL Book Store hours (weekly):

Monday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Tuesday  4 – 8 p.m.

Wednesday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Saturday Noon – 4 p.m.

Another ongoing sale is our self-service “paperback” (mass market trade) sale held every day the library is open. Paperback books are $.25 each or 5 for $1.

We always accept new donations, so you can drop your used books, videos, CDs, DVDs, etc., by any time the Library is open.   Donations can be placed in the nook between the foyer and the check-out desk.

NOTICE:  We CANNOT ACCEPT donations of ENCYLOPEDIAS or REFERENCE BOOKS published more than 10 years ago NOR LAW BOOKS of any type.

The April ’09 FoL Book Sale put a lot of ‘Spring’ in our organization for the coming months. In addition to almost $10k in sales, dues collected amounted to around $1k.

The Book Sales committee extends a huge “Thank you!” to all who helped with the set-up, the sale, the clean-up, and especially for shopping at the sale! FoL member purchases on the “members only” Thursday and Friday dates accounted for more than half the total sales.

It seems our experiment with the ongoing ‘Wagon Wednesday’ mini-sales each week hasn’t hurt our ability to draw crowds for our semi-annual sales. The next big book sale will be in October, 2009.

Your donations of books (paperbacks and hardcovers) are greatly appreciated, so drop those off any time the Library is open.
