FOL is purchasing a large flat-screen TV for the meeting room. The Summer Reading Club, regular Children’s Programs, and many local organizations will benefit from this addition to library equipment.  FOL funds are also going to prizes for the Summer Reading Club (Volunteers: see Help Kids with Summer Reading!)

This year, FoL will sponsor a library staff employee to attend Leadership Granbury. Leadership Granbury offers a unique opportunity to acquire more information about the institutions and organizations that make this community work and thrive. The program requires a committment of 1 day each month (September through May) and at several social events throughout the session that will educate participants about Granbury’s past, present and future, both locally and as a part of Texas.

The Library, which had been closed November 11-1, reopened on November 19th with new carpeting and new art work.

The new carpeting was made possible largely by a donation of $20,000 from the Friends of the Library for Hood County.

Art work was donated to the Library from the estate of a local resident by Lowell Richey on behalf of the family.

Kudos to FoL Members and Volunteers. The carpeting would not have been possible without you!

The Lake Granbury Master Gardeners helped us with an outdoor Spring Cleaning of the flower beds at the Library in late May. Several FoL Members worked alongside the Master Gardeners to put the Library’s flower beds in good order. It was a great opportunity for us to learn from the Master Gardeners, and their help means little summer maintenance will be needed!
