Change in FoL Membership Year

At the January 20^th meeting of the FoL, members approved a change to simplify the Membership year such that it coincides with the calendar year rather than FoL’s fiscal year (June-May).

Most members will need to RENEW MEMBERSHIP DUES NOW, as the change in dues is effective immediately. Exception: if you paid dues at the October 2010 annual book sale, or after that date, your dues are “grandfathered” in and expire Dec. 31, 2011.

Remember:

FOL members receive discounts at our used book store, early shopping privileges at annual book sales, and other benefits.

FoL is supported entirely from membership dues, contributions and fundraising events. In the past four years FOL has donated more than $65,000 in equipment and services to the Hood County Public Library.

Membership in the Friends of the Library for Hood County is very affordable at $10 per year for individuals and $15 per year for a family membership.

Member benefits include:

Advance notices of Friends’ book sales, author events, and other activities.
Early shopping privileges at our used book sales.
Access to the “members only” area of our web site.
Opportunities to make a difference in our community through volunteering, from serving as a Member of the Board of Directors to lending a hand with book sales.
Fellowship with other book lovers and the satisfaction of supporting the importance of a strong library in our community.

Now you can apply for new membership online and both new and renewing members can make online membership payments!

Or, you can still download the membership form, complete it, and drop it by the Library or mail-in your remittance.
